This Week's Favourite Projects/Cards and Two Projects

Here's this week's favourites from the blogiverse.

Also, a couple of projects I've been working. The first is a very simple set of glass marble magnets that I made. The coloured ones are made with the Stampin' Up! stamp set Mostly Flowers in the In Colors Inks which are embossed with clear embossing powder (makes the colour a little more brilliant under glass and they stand up a bit better to being glued). The ones with the white flowers are white cardstock spritzed with three colours of Glimmer Mist (gold, green, brown). The flower is an American Crafts rubon. I love making these little magnets because they are soooo easy and they make nice gifts.

This is a card I've done for a "Barnyard" themed swap on SCS. I coloured the chicken with Copics and then masked the image and airbrushed the blue background. I love this stamp - he's so cheeky!

Supplies: Cardstock (Bazzil, PaperTrey, SU!), Patterned Paper (Cloud Nine Design) Stamps (Whipper Snapper), Copic Markers, Robin's Nest Dew Drops, Ink (Brilliance), twine

Good morning could you share how you mask the card so you can do the background? Tape would tear the image so.......I know this must be an easy task but I had to ask!

To mask this card I use an all-purpose frisket film which you can buy in an artist supply store or in the fine arts section of a local big box craft store (Michaels, etc.). It comes in 9x12 sheets and is basically a very low tack adhesive film. I stamped the chicken image on the front of the film and cut it out with detail scissors and placed it over the coloured chicken. I use Palette or Staz-On to stamp on the film otherwise it can rub off. You can use the same piece of film for several applications.
